It cannot be used for a longer 20, 30 or 40-week presessional course with a student visa if you would like to study English in the UK in person.

What does the test involve?

This is an online test with four parts:

  • Speaking

The reading, writing, and listening tests take four hours in total to complete, including test instructions, ID checks and comfort breaks.

The speaking test will take 20 minutes to complete and is held at a different time to the reading, writing and listening test.

Please note that all written test responses will be checked for similarity to published sources, chatbots and other students' work using AI and plagiarism detection software. Any responses which are shown to be copied will result in an invalidated or reduced mark with no option to appeal.
