Gavin Scott's Thunderbird Challenge
5 capitals, 4 days, 3 sleeps, 2 wheels, 1000km
University of Nottingham Environment Manager Gavin Scott completed his Thunderbirds Challenge in aid of Life Cycle 5 this September.
Gavin's challenge began on September 7 with a 197km ride from Edinburgh to Cairnryan. After sailing to Belfast he then rode 192km from Belfast to Dublin before sailing to Holyhead. Day 3 saw Gavin cycle from Holyhead to Cardiff (316km) before riding 300km to the finishing line at Buckingham Palace on September 10. Read more about the challenge on Gavin's blog.

Dancing for dementia - Impact campaign ceilidh
The University of Nottingham School of Medicine are hosting a ceilidh from 7.30-11pm on Thursday 22 October, with proceeds going towards Life Cycle 5 and the Impact Campaign.
Tickets are £15, and include a meat or vegetarian pie. Bring your own drinks with a corkage fee donation. This promises to be a fantastic evening, so dust off your dancing shoes for a reel or two.
