Support Nottingham Life Cycle

A huge thank you to everyone who supported Nottingham Life Cycle by sponsoring the team or an individual rider or by getting involved with the community event on Sunday 23 August. It's still not too late to support us - every donation will help fund our life-changing dementia research!

Gift Aid

Please note donations from a ‘connected person’ of the riders taking part in the main Life Cycle 5 coast to coast and lochs and glens challenges are not eligible for Gift Aid.

A ‘connected person’ is:

  • The wife, husband or civil partner
  • A relative (brother, sister, ancestor e.g. mother) or lineal descendant (e.g. grandson)
  • The wife or husband or civil partner of a relative
  • A company under the control of the donor or connected persons

Donations by sponsors that are not connected with the main riders can qualify for Gift Aid, subject to meeting the usual Gift Aid requirements.

All sponsorship money raised at our community events should be submitted via cheque, together with a Donation Form to:

Bike, bake, sing... you can organise a whole host of activities to support Life Cycle 5

The Great Life Cycle Bake Off

Lots of you got together with others and whipped up some support by holding a bake sale between April and July. You took a bite of the cherry and showed off your culinary skills, sprinkled some finishing touches and let the judging commence as you raised some dough! Great fun and the perfect excuse to eat cake plus valuable funds were raised for dementia research.

Email if you are still interested in holding a bake off!

Ceilidh in aid of dementia research

Our School of Medicine is organising an 'Impact Campaign Ceilidh' - a fundraising evening featuring music by the Beeston Ceilidh Collective. Join in for a night of lively and energetic dancing in the Gaelic tradition - experience not essential!

Taking place 7.30-11pm, Thursday 22 October in Studio 7, King's Meadow Campus. Tickets are £15, available from Helen Taylor, room B114 within Queen's Medical Centre. Email Helen or contact her on 0115 82 30246. Tickets are also on sale from Nottingham Lakeside Arts by calling 0115 84 67777. Free parking will be available. Your entry includes a meat or veggie pie. Bring your own drinks for a corkage donation.

Thinking about riding your own challenge?

Our Vice-Chancellor and his team have taken part in a series of cycling challenges this summer. The final hurdle was the Lochs and Glens tour in early September. If you would like to support them in their challenge, visit the team JustGiving page.

Let us know if you plan to organise your own cycle challenge for dementia research - we would love to hear your progress!
