Fairtrade is a system of certification that aims to ensure set standards are met in the production and supply of a product or ingredient. For farmers and workers, Fairtrade means workers’ rights, safer working conditions and fairer pay. For shoppers, it means high quality, ethically produced products.
In many of our retail outlets, we serve Bewley’s Eros and Grumpy Mule Fairtrade coffee and stock several Fairtrade food items such as bananas, chocolate and confectionery.
We run Fairtrade events throughout the year, such as during Fairtrade Fortnight. Find out what the University did during this year's Fairtrade Fortnight in our news article.
To further support Fairtrade and show our commitment, we are also working towards reinstating the Fairtrade University and College Award.
