May 2023

Hi,

Spring might finally be here, with flowers blooming and birds busy nest-building. It's the perfect time for a walk in the woods or a wander round campus to see what you can spot. It's also the ideal opportunity to help nature flourish by taking part in No Mow May and Hedgehog Awareness Week

We also have details of our Sustainability Fair on University Park, a smart energy grid on Jubilee and new conservation events across all campuses.

So let’s get going!

At the university we celebrate No Mow May whilst encouraging nature to flourish all year round! We're supporting and increasing habitats by reducing mowing of areas across our campuses. Look out for them.

New biodiversity projects are planned throughout the year which will further help increase the flora and fauna on campus.

If you want to get involved in enhancing biodiversity on campus, join the Grounds Team every Wednesday 1:30 - 3:30pm.
Conservation sessions

New wildflower areas have been created over the last two years, including at Lenton Hurst House and areas outside halls of residence.

Well done for everyone that made changes to save energy and reduce your carbon emissions – keep it up!

Remember that we still have a long way to reach our  CO2 emission targets and we need your help to get there!
