Sustainability Action Week starts Monday!
Join us for a dedicated week of activities and events highlighting environmental and social issues and action at UoN. There's something for everyone across our UK campuses.

Nature and conservation events
'Humans and whales' Public Lecture
6-7pm Tuesday 19 March
Learn about the interesting relationship between two of the planets most complex creatures.
10-2pm Thursday 21 March
George Green Library Quad
Find out about cycling, buy a refurbished bike, have your bike registered by Nottinghamshire Police and pick up some cycling freebies.
Half price NCT bus ticket
For one week only, NCT is offering all UoN staff and students the opportunity to purchase 7-day bus tickets for half their usual price.
3-4pm Friday 22 March
Attend a screening of the short documentary Gen Z Mental Health: Climate Stories followed by an informal 'Climate Cafe' discussion over free pizza. Everyone welcome.
Tackle eco-anxiety with action and explore the science behind the climate emergency in an interactive and engaging workshop. Includes time for discussion and reflection about our choices and ideas for positive action.

Take part in a range of week-long events highlighting green jobs and helping students prepare for future careers in sustainability. Hosted by the Careers Team.
Humanities Sustainability Fair
10-4pm Humanities Building Atrium
Visit the Sustainability Fair in Humanities for displays and reflections on sustainability, with a focus on the seasons, waste and eco-education.

Litter picks
1-3pm Fri 15 March DRSV with UoN Sport 12pm Thurs 21 March, SB, meet at Costcutters
Lend a hand picking litter to help make our campuses safer and more enjoyable places for animal and human visitors alike. Equipment provided.
Eco-Healthcare Society clothing drive
Donate clothing to homelessness charity, Emmanuel House. Donation boxes in the Medical School Reception and Health Science Office.
Food Waste Action Week
Reduce your food waste in catered halls to win prizes!
Food Waste Action Week (18-24 March 2024) is Love Food Hate Waste's annual campaign to cut food waste. Looking ahead to the week we are highlighting how the Catering Team and Residential Experience Team are tackling food waste in catered halls with a friendly competition.
Sign up to Green Rewards, log your action and get rewarded for being sustainable. Try the platform's new carbon footprint calculator launching 18 March and pledge your actions for Sustainability Action Week.
