Year-on-year the University of Nottingham has reduced carbon dioxide emissions on campus, with a total reduction of 40% since 2009, exceeding the target set in 2010 by almost 2,000 tonnes. How did we achieve this? The Christmas break has come early this year, and whilst your time spent on campus may be less than usual, there are still you can do to help the University to reduce costs and carbon emissions over the holidays.

The University of Nottingham has been ranked 3rd in the world in a list of the most sustainable universities. The UI Green Metric Rankings look at six indicators: setting and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste, water, transportation and education.  Since first taking part in 2010, Nottingham has consistently been placed in the top four. Over 900 universities from 84 countries took part in the 2020 rankings.
