The Students’ Union

su-logoThe Students' Union (SU) is a student-run body that provides support and advice to students on a range of areas. You automatically become a part of the SU when you register.

Our Student's Union (SU) is one of the most active in the UK and has over 300 student-run clubs and societies that you can join.

The student charity Karnival also offers the opportunity to raise money for good causes and the Student Volunteer Centre has 92 volunteering projects for you to get involved in.

Students’ Union Advice provides free and impartial advice and information on a wide range of issues such as housing, education and finances.

We're ranked 7th for sport in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2016, and have finished in the top 10 of the British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) league for the last 20 years.

We pride ourselves on the breadth of our offer with over 70 sports clubs for you to  join. Our popular intramural league has more than 200 teams playing for their hall, department or society every week. And for those who want to keep fit without competing, we offer three levels of sports membership, giving you access to sports and fitness facilities as well as a range of exercise classes.

Teaching excellence

International students Welcome Programme

The University of Nottingham provides its students with teaching of the very highest quality, according to the results of the inaugural Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).

The TEF panel judged that the University delivers consistently outstanding teaching, learning and outcomes for its students. It reached the gold standard — the highest quality found in the UK.

The TEF panel noted that students at the University achieved “consistently outstanding outcomes”, and that there were high levels of student satisfaction with teaching and academic support.

You can take advantage of a range of support services during your time at Nottingham.

Trained advisers are available at our Student Service Centres, where you can find help with a range of academic matters as well as disability support, financial advice and any University documentation that you might need.

There is also access to childcare services, a free counselling service, faith advice and health care services to help you throughout your studies.
