The Students' Union (SU) is a student-run body that provides support and advice to students on a range of areas. You automatically become a part of the SU when you register.
Read their help and advice to see how they can contribute to your university experience.
The SU are also in charge of organising events and activities to fill up the social calendar, and there are loads of societies that you can get involved in.
Part of being successful is knowing when and how to ask for help.Our Student Service Centres are staffed by trained advisers and provide self-help facilities for you to access. You can find help with a range of academic matters as well as disability support, financial advice and any University documentation that you might need.
There is also access to childcare services, a free counselling service, faith advice and health care services to help you throughout your studies.
Many courses offer you the chance to study abroad.

The University of Nottingham runs a free Welcome Programme for new international (non-EU) students before the start of term, which is designed to help you settle in to Nottingham life and complete some practical formalities.
