If you need a Tier 4 visa to enter the UK to study a full-time course at The University of Nottingham, please read through our information about obtaining this visa. You should use the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number provided by the Admissions Office to apply for your visa as early as possible. The CAS number can only be issued a maximum of four months before your course date and you can only make your visa application a maximum of three months before your course start date. To find out what is needed for a CAS number, please take a look at our CAS guidance page.
Please bear in mind that UK Visas and Immigration place certain limits on the length of time that students can spend in the UK on a Tier 4 student visa to study courses at certain levels.
In order to apply successfully for a student visa/entry clearance you must be able to show that you have enough money to cover your tuition fees and living expenses in the UK for up to one year.
UK Visas and Immigration have strict requirements about the amount of money needed and the evidence that will be accepted. The primary reason for visa refusals is that incorrect evidence of sufficient funds is provided by the visa applicant.
Please read the Tier 4 information carefully to ensure you meet these requirements. We also have a page with more information on how to avoid a visa refusal.
We offer a free Welcome Programme for new international students (non-EU), which will take place from Thursday 21 September until Friday 22 September 2017.
The Welcome Programme is an excellent opportunity to meet staff and students at the University and get to know the campus. You will have the chance to complete some practical formalities, such as opening a bank account and registering with the National Health Service (NHS), as well as enjoying social events with other new international students.
Registration for the Welcome Programme is open now and further details are available on the Welcome Programme webpage.
Working in partnership with the national coach service, National Express, we deliver a bespoke service from London Gatwick and London Heathrow airports to Nottingham at a discounted rate for all students who will be arriving into the UK from overseas during September 2017.
If you are attending the Welcome Programme, you can book the service direct to University Park Campus. Alternatively, you can travel into Nottingham city centre Broadmarsh Bus Station throughout September 2017.
