Dr Mark Farnworth, Associate Professor (Animal Welfare) from Nottingham Trent University will be presenting a talk on this day.  Having graduated from Edinburgh University and worked for SRUC, he moved to New Zealand to work in the polytechnic sector and, after 7 years, enrolled in his PhD at Massey University. Despite being a dog owner, he has spent much of his research career exploring cat welfare and the place that cats occupy within UK and New Zealand social structures. His current work includes working with Cats Protection on the “Cat Watch” initiative which began in Bulwell and is now being rolled out nationally.
