Biography

Kirstie Pickles joined SVMS in September 2020 as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Equine Medicine. She graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1996, completed a residency and PhD at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies and became a diplomate of the European College of Equine Internal Medicine in 2009. She has worked in both clinical practice and academia in the UK, USA and New Zealand and is passionate about teaching, equine medicine, and neurodiversity and wellbeing in the veterinary profession.

My research interests include trigeminal mediated headshaking, cyathostomins, equine gastric ulcer syndrome, equine asthma, and neurodiversity and wellbeing in the profession.
