Clifton Bridge delays
Travel to and from our Nottingham campuses is likely to be affected for the foreseeable future by the emergency works taking place at Clifton Bridge on the A52. This can cause severe delays at peak travel periods across Nottingham. It can also impact hopper bus travel between our University Park, King’s Meadow, Jubilee and Sutton Bonington campuses.
The Highways England East Midlands’ Twitter feed highlights live traffic issues and recommended diversions.
Information for visitors
Our campuses remain open and accessible. However, during peak traffic periods and large events there may be delays in your journey to and from our campuses.
Check the Highways England website and East Midlands Twitter feed before travel to plan your journey.
Consider using public transport. Leave the car at home and consider the bus, tram or train.
Information for staff
Commuting to and from our campuses has been affected by lane closures on Clifton Bridge and the resulting delays, and we expect this to continue. Informal, short-term changes to working patterns can be agreed to help you manage your journey to and from work. Our Flexible Working Policy and Guidelines can support you and your manager in discussing this.
Examples of informal flexible working arrangements could include:
- colleagues arriving at/leaving their place of work earlier/later to avoid key periods of congestion
- arriving into the office later and/or leaving the office earlier combined with working from home, or at another campus location
- agreed short-term home working
As these are short-term temporary alterative arrangements, a formal flexible working request isn’t required. Formal flexible working requests should be made through the Flexible Working Policy.
