2.4 Labelling lines Sometimes you may want to refer to mathematical sentences or phrases further up your work. You can label such sentences and then refer back by label. Thus, Example 3 could be laid out as follows. So, from (1) and (2), The Electromagnetic Spectrum Les addictions à l'ordinateur et aux jeu vidéos - Elizabeth Rossé (audio)

6.4 The principle of proportionality This principle has been developed and refined by the ECJ and is also covered by Article 5 EC: Any action of the Community shall not go beyond what is necessary to achieve the objectives of this Treaty. However, given that the objectives of the Community are defined very widely in Article 2 EC, the principle of proportionality is not always the easiest tool for curbing EU legislative enthusiasm. Don't miss out: 4 The celebrity persona and the celebrity text It has been emphasised that we can only know stars through media texts (Dyer, 1998) and this can be extended to seeing celebrities themselves as texts, though for celebrities of any longevity we would certainly have to consider them as large, complex and modulating ones. This section will look at how we might go about reading such a text. There is a distinction between the ‘real’ person and a persona presented in the public arena. One pervasive feature of the ‘large celebrity text’ is High-rise Building Optimization MEPO 3/374 - ALFRED SOLOMON charged with the wilful murder of BARNET BLITZ (Image 2) The National Archives UK posted a photo: Correspondence fro 4.11 Model for pier failure Figure 39 shows a simple model to explain the failure of the piers. The lateral wind loading on the top of the pier bends to shear the pier from a rectangle into a parallelogram. In turn, this stretches the tie bars and also strains the bolted joints at the top and bottom of each column. 5.1 Introduction In this section, I shall explore the features of the contextualising (systems-methods) ball – the C ball. I will make a distinction between systemic and systematic thinking and action and I will argue that the aware systems practitioner has more choices than the practitioner who is not aware. An aware practitioner is able to contextualise a diverse array of methods at their disposal creating an opportunity for a greater range of advantageous changes in the ‘real world’ situation. An integrated system to aid the planning of concrete structures: introducing the system 1.2 Talking and writing mathematics One way of testing whether or not you are conforming to the first guideline, is to read your solutions through aloud. Speaking aloud involves you in translating every symbol on the page into its verbal equivalent. If you find yourself needing to say more than is written on the page, you may need to expand your written account. To give you practice at this and at assessing the quality of some written mathematics, work through the animation below. The actual mathematics used is not important; j Geometry Rotation Collaborating in a Virtual Architectural Environment: The Las Americas Virtual Design Studio (LAVDS) 6.1 Introduction In recent years different explanations of how labour markets operate have been proposed by a number of economists dissatisfied with neoclassical theory in general and its explanation for labour market disadvantage in particular. Some of these alternatives simply extend neoclassical models to include the effects of various institutional factors. Others, however, have sought to develop a new theoretical approach. All reject a predominantly competitive analysis and emphasise instead the fragment A Technology-Enhanced Metacognitive Strategy 3.4.1 What is a partnership? Persons who run a business together are said to be in partnership. Partnership is the second form of business organisation at which we shall look, and we will explore what a partnership is, in the eyes of the law, in the next activity. Hidden Line Elimination in Projected Grid Surfaces
Video discusses the electromagnetic spectrum. It starts with the various wave lengths and where visible light is found. Visible light is represented by only 1 inch on an electromagnetic scale of over 2,000 miles.
In the middle of the year 2001, we had the opportunity to project an Auditory in the particular building of our School of Architecture. The chance to produce the entire project an all the technical documentation was given; using only digital tools. The use of this tools let us to calculate illumination, isolation study, sound an thermical conditioning with a real time visualization of the three dimensional model.
Peter Drucker’s immense contribution to the thinking and practice of management extends to social responsibility in business. This work goes back over 60 years but remains relevant today -- notwithstanding the impacts of globalisation and the greater interconnectedness of business and society.

This paper reports on the development at Loughborough University of a CAD-based integrated model to aid the planning of in-situ concrete structures. The system development started after a review of the planning models currently available and after a detailed questionnaire survey undertaken amongst the top UK and US contractors on the current status of planning techniques and information technology. The main aim of this system i
A rotation is an isometric transformation where the original figure and the image are congruent. The orientation of the image also stays the same, unlike reflections. This video demonstrates how to perform a geometry rotation. (6:55)
The paper describes exploratory work in the design, construction, and habitation of a virtual structure (VS) nested within an Internet-based multi-user environment and serving a geographically distributed collective of architecture students and faculty. In addition to a discourse on the design and implementation parameters that were used, the paper seeks to provide findings that make reference to the quality of teaching/learning experience of users and the effectiveness of the interaction among
This paper describes the implementation of a technology-enhanced metacognitive strategy that seeks to improve the learning outcomes in beginners design studios. The implementation was based on the use of time-based rich-media tools that allowed the students to document and present the different stages of their design process. The results of the design assignment in the experimental group were compared with the results of the same assignment implemented without such a metacognitive strategy and t

The hidden line and hidden surface problems are simpler when restricted to special classes of objects. An example is the class of grid surfaces, that is, graphs of bivariate functions represented by their values on a set of grid points. Projected grid surfaces have geometric properties which permit hidden line or hidden surface elimination to be done more easily than in the general case. These properties are discussed in this paper, and an algorithm is given which exploits them
