This unit will help you to identify and use information in maths and statistics, whether for your work, study or personal purposes. Experiment with some of the key resources in this subject area, and learn about the skills which will enable you to plan searches for information, so you can find what you are looking for more easily. Discover the meaning of information quality, and learn how to evaluate the information you come across. You will also be introduced to the many different ways of organ
3.4 Self-assessment questions and problems
You may have met complex numbers before, but not had experience in manipulating them. This unit gives an accessible introduction to complex numbers, which are very important in science and technology, as well as mathematics. The unit includes definitions, concepts and techniques which will be very helpful and interesting to a wide variety of people with a reasonable background in algebra and trigonometry.
Introduction to Indian Literature in translation
Professor Boehmer gives a short talk on her current research on Indian Literature in English, looking at the Post-Colonial world of literature and gives an introduction to studying World Literature in the Humanities Division
Global warming
This unit provides an introduction to global warming. We will be considering the history of global warming by looking at the pattern of ice ages and analyisis of recorded temperatures. We will aim to gather meaningful information from this data. We will briefly assess the impact and influence of humans on global warming and, finally, we will examine climate models and how to predict future changes.
4.5.4 Phosphorus
This extract is concerned primarily with the chemistry that underpins the operation of the three-way catalytic converter that is placed in the exhaust systems of motor vehicles in order to reduce the emissions of primary pollutants: carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen and volatile organic compounds, including hydrocarbons. Discussion of the various effects of these pollutants and the consequent introduction and refinement of ‘automotive emission regulations’ has not been included, nor is the

Introduction to Lattice Multiplication
In this video, Sal Khan, offers an introduction to Lattice Multiplication. Mr. Khan uses the Paint Program (with different colors)Â to illustrate his points. Sal Khan is the recipient of the 2009Â Microsoft Tech Award in Education.
The Family (Animation)

As we explained yesterday we’re going to be releasing our existing Show Time Spanish series on the Coffee Break Spanish feed while we’re working on new materials for intermediate/advanced learners of Spanish. In this first episode of the series you’ll get to know our two main presenters, Mark and Alba, and you’ll also be meeting José who will help you to take you Season 2 – Lesson 39 – Coffee Break Spanish It’s the penultimate episode of this season of Coffee Break Spanish and we continue to follow the adventures of MarÃa-José and Andrew as they come to the end of their time together in Spain. This week Andrew is signing up for his course in the ayuntamiento and needs to ask for some directions. We’ll here more examples of the subjunctive in use. Please note that lesson 39 of Season 2 was originally known as lesson 239 of Coffee Break Spanish. We have ren Paleoecology as a Classroom Tool to Address Global Climate Change Rock In The Classroom / I Love This Land Expeditie België In deze werkbundel worden de diverse aspecten van België belicht. De leerlingen reizen doorheen België en leren de geschiedenis, de steden, de geografie,... van ons land kennen. Heel wat werkblaadjes kunnen ze zelfstandig oplossen. De … Functions and the function notation In Figure 25, the position x of the car depends on the time t. The graph associates a particular value of x with each value of t over the plotted range. In other circumstances we might know an equation that associates a value of x with each value of t, as in the case of the equation x = At + B that we discussed in Section 3. You can invent countless other ways in which x depends on t: for instance x = At Derived functions and derivative notation Given the function x(t) that describes some particular motion, you could plot the corresponding position-time graph, measure its gradient at a variety of times to find the instantaneous velocity at those times and then plot the velocity-time graph. If you had some time left, you might go on to measure the gradient of the velocity-time graph at various times, and then plot the acceleration-time graph for the motion. This would effectively complete the description of the motion, b
Do poems think? Recurrent images of the poet as an inspired lunatic, and of poetry as a fundamentally irrational art, have often fostered an understanding of poets and their work as generally extraneous to the work of the sciences. Yet poets have long reflected upon and have sought to embody in their work the most elementary processes of mind, and have frequently drawn for these representations on the very sciences to which they are thought to stand - and sometimes do genuinely stand - in opposi
