After all the students have shared their liquids, the contents of the cups will be tested for the virus with phenolphthalein, a chemical that causes a striking color change in the presence of sodium carbonate. Students will

1929 Stock Market Crash
In this 2:33 video about what some have called, Black Thursday, the Roaring Twenties ends and a world-wide economic depression starts. After the stock market crashed, people started panicking and eventually President Hoover said things would go back to normal in 60 days, but by 60 days, the depression spread around the world.  This is a good video to show the impact of this event and provide the students with insights into its cause.
