3.6 Collecting and interpreting data

In many projects it can be difficult to make comparisons with anything similar. However, there may be quality standards that can be used for one of more of the outcomes, perhaps alongside different targets for time-scales and resource use. The Chinese Inventions and Its Impact on Western Culture
This video is an introduction that lasts 5 minutes, but the whole video is (58:43).  It shows the development of China and its people both in terms of geography, the culture, and history as a background to its inventions. Students would benefit from having a map of the country to help show where certain events occur. A good overview video for studying China.

Native Scots or those descended directly from them have been the recipients of some 11 per cent of all the Nobel Prizes that have been awarded.

In this section of the OpenLearn Scotland collection, we look in detail at the lives and work of four great Scots: John Napier, James Clerk Maxwell, Robert Owen and David Hume.
