Taste and smell are closely linked. Wine tastings are popular events that people go to to taste several different wines. If someone who has a stuffy nose goes to a wine tasting, they would have a hard time tasting the wine in general and would not be able to distinguish between the wines. This is because the nose and mouth are connected at the back of the throat and not being able to smell effects how well you can taste food.
