One can gain insight into what poets are trying to convey from listening to them read their poems. Most poets read with a conspicuous mannerism which, I suggest, mimics a pattern of speech they heard in early life that had a powerful influence on them. In Bukowski's work, for instance, I'm sure I hear the dismissive, jeering voice of his abusive father. Just as logarithms are used to access exponents in exponential equations, exponentiation can be used to access the insides of a logarithm.  This video explains how solving logarithmic equations often involves exponentiation of logarithms in order to get rid of the log and access its insides.  Sometimes the product, quotient, or power rules of logarithms are used when solving logarithmic equations.  (1:20)
