This forum discussed the goals of Americans Elect 2012, which will add a third ticket to the Presidential Election in 2012 to give voters an alternative to voting for the Republican or Democrat ticket. A very insightful debate took place which discussed what this movement offers America, the challenges it faces and whether a third ticket candidate could be elected President of the United States.

Using the Second Derivative Test
This video explains how to solve optimization problems by using the second derivative test. If the second derivative is always positive, the function will have a relative minimum somewhere. If it is always negative, the function will have a relative maximum somewhere. Other ways of solving optimization problems include using the closed interval method or the first derivative test.
