Flight of the Bumble Bee by Rimsky-Korsakov
This light but manic piece brings to mind the buzzing of a bee or swarm of bees. The music for the Nasonex bee in a 2006 TV commercial. Look for a killer version of this piece by Croation pianist Maksim Mrvica on his 2003 CD "The Piano Player." This is the World Premiere Performance of Maksim August 24, 2006 on the piano.

Space Station Live: Aerosols in a CATS Eye
NASA Public Affairs Officer Nicole Cloutier-Lemasters talks with Dr. Matthew McGill and Dr. John Yorks of NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD, about CATS (Cloud-Aerosol Transport System), their aerosol-measuring remote sensing unit that’s flying to the International Space Station on a cargo vehicle next week. CATS uses a LiDAR system to provide a better understanding of particulate coverage in the atmosphere for scientists modeling Earth’s climate feedback processes.

Ebola, Peace and Security [Audio]
Speaker(s): Karin Landgren | Ebola may not be a weapon but this disease threatens peace and security. To date, the total number of reported cases of Ebola exceeds 10,000, with over half of the reported cases occurring in Liberia. Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) Karin Landgren has run the UN peacekeeping operation in Liberia since mid-2012, with over 8,000 personnel including troops, police and civilians. Addressing the UN Security Council on 9th September 2014, Landgren sa
Effects on humans The most well-known effect of nitrates on human health is methaemoglobinaemia (met-heem-oh-gloh-bin-eem-ia) or ‘blue baby syndrome’. If large quantities of nitrogen compounds are ingested in drinking water, the ability of the blood to carry oxygen is impaired, causing headache, fatigue, breathing difficulties, diarrhoea and vomiting and, in extreme cases, loss of consciousness and death. This syndrome is quite common in parts of the USA, and the Netherlands, where nitrogen levels are very
6.1 London London's population and economic size are those of a region. As such it contains various peripheries within itself. Further to this, there are some issues, mainly economic planning and transport, which are closely connected with the rest of south-east England. The Labour government introduced a Greater London Authority (Referendum) Bill in October 1997 and organised a referendum on 7 May 1998 in which 72 per cent voted (on a low turn-out of 33.5 per cent) in favour of establishing a Mayor and

Can Humans Reconnect in an Age of Isolation?
In his book, digital theorist Douglas Rushkoff explains how people can use technology to reconnect with each other, rather than allowing it to isolate them.
7.342 Sweet Discoveries: Unraveling the Complex World of Sugars in Health and Disease (MIT)
Glycans, which are complex assemblies of sugars, are the most prevalent class of macromolecules, surpassing nucleic acids, proteins and lipids. Glycans are essential for life, as they are a required energy source, provide protection against cellular stresses and shape cellular structure. During this course, we will explore the many roles glycans play in human health and disease. For example, we will learn about the healthy glycosylation patterns of many mammalian proteins and the dynamic changes
4.8 Assess and review again If you've been following the stages of our problem-solving map, then the chances are you're ahead of me here (Figure 19). Yes, if it works, hurrah; if it doesn't then off we go again, all the way back to 'possible solutions' and selecting the best of the rest. Or maybe even going back to the beginn

Energy resources: Solar energy
Energy from sources other than fossil and nuclear fuels is to a large extent free of the concerns about environmental effects and renewability that characterize those two sources. Each alternative source supplies energy continuall, whether or not we use it, and most have their origins in energy generated outside the Earth, yet the potential of each is limited by its total supply set against its rate of use. The Sun will radiate energy until it ceases thermonuclear fusion, in around 5 billion yea
