This video discusses some of the famous authors artists, architects, and musicians of the 1800s and a few of their most famous works It also discusses some of the changes in daily life in the 1800s. This is a great video to use as an overview of the time period and it provides good insights and images during its five minute running time. The video moves rapidly and so it may have to be paused to enable students to catch-up.

Mark Twain: A Biography of Samuel Clemens
This is a two hour plus video about the life and times of Mark Twain, Samuel Clemens. It is done through interviews that provide insights about why he used age and race relations through the writings. The video includes a trip through his museum and call in questions about his writing. Teachers are asked when they teach his writings which makes this video of value to teachers considering teaching Twain's writings.
James Fenimore Cooper
This two and a half hour video features interviews with experts that explain the influence of the late 18th and early 19th century frontier and Native-American relations on James Fenimore Cooper.
