Religions of the World - Christianity
A brief overview of Christianity, it's history, demographics, precepts and denominations. Goes very rapidly and is of little use to a student unfamiliar with the religion.
What prevents middle manager from getting to the top? Learning outcomes After studying this course, you should be able to: define and use in context, or recognise definitions and applications of, each of the terms printed in bold in the text identify some of the reasons why clean, fresh water is an increasingly scarce resource for many people in the world explain what is meant by the bioaccumulation of xenobiotic chemicals and identify the implications that this has for what people can safely eat distingu 6.087 Practical Programming in C (MIT) ABC Phonics Song 3.3 Managing conflict Conflict can emerge when a project is thought to be absorbing scarce resources or shifting the balance of power. The schedule for project meetings provides a framework for communication while the project is in progress. Meetings with team members on a one-to-one basis, in addition to group meetings, will help them to feel supported and could be an opportunity to provide coaching when necessary. FY-RTS 3 Portfolio Template Introduction Learning how to learn is a process in which we all engage throughout our lives, although often we do not realise that we are, in fact, learning how to learn. Most of the time we concentrate on what we are learning rather than how we are learning it. In this unit, we aim to make the process of learning much more explicit by inviting you to apply the various ideas and activities to your own current or recent study as a way of increasing your awareness of your own learning. Introduction This unit is an adapted extract from the course The molecular world
(S205) This unit will provide you with a detailed understanding of some of the important problems and topics that are being studied by the chemists of today, and of the ways in which associated problems might be solved by chemical methods. But to acquire this understanding you must have a good grasp of fundamental chemic 6.1 Toughing it out For small insectivorous mammals, the best solution to the problem of obtaining sufficient energy for their requirements, notably the maintenance of body temperature, is to feed continuously. But in temperate regions, insect eaters have to cope with shortage of insects during cold winters. In Section 6 I want to focus on two strategies that insect eaters use to cope with problems of overwintering. Similarly, within a multicellular organism, cells are surrounded by an extracellular environment from which signals are received and responded to. Extracellular events are decoded and transmitted to relevant parts of individual cells by way of a series of activation/deactivation steps involving many intracellular molecules. This relay of information along molecular pathways is called signal tra 9.97 Introduction to Neuroanatomy (MIT) 2.3 Pie charts Pie charts are representations that make it easy to compare proportions: in particular, they allow quick identification of very large proportions and very small proportions. They are generally based on large sets of data. The pie chart below summarises the average weekly expenditure by a sample of families on food and drink. The whole circle represents 100% of the expenditure. The circle is then divided into ‘segments’, and the area of each segment represents a fraction or pe The Benefits and Costs of U.S. Environmental Laws 6.1 course summary 1. A coordinate system provides a systematic means of specifying the position of a particle. A system in one dimension involves choosing an origin and a positive direction in which values of the position coordinate increase. Values of the position coordinate are positive or negative numbers multiplied by an appropriate unit of length, usually the SI unit of length, the metre (m). 2. The movement of a particle along a line can be described graphically by plotting values of the particle's
Richard Jolly, Adjunct Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour, discusses the obstacles facing middle managers who want to progress
This course provides a thorough introduction to the C programming language, the workhorse of the UNIX operating system and lingua franca of embedded processors and micro-controllers. The first two weeks will cover basic syntax and grammar, and expose students to practical programming techniques. The remaining lectures will focus on more advanced concepts, such as dynamic memory allocation, concurrency and synchronization, UNIX signals and process control, library development and usage. The micrograph shows h-BN inclusion (precipitate) in a β-Si3N4 grain (within a silicon nitride particulate-reinforced silicon carbide composite). The occurrence of BN inclusions results from the introduction of colloidal BN into the hot isostatic pressing process. They are formed from B2O3 present as a thin surface film on the BN particles in the barrier layer. B2O3 will be molten during the pressing process and will diffuse rapidly into the powder compact and react with Si3N4 to form BN. Such

This subject will be an intensive introduction to neuroanatomy, involving lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on laboratories, including a brain dissection. The course will not assume any prior knowledge of neuroanatomy, though some general knowledge of brain structures will be helpful.
