To be able to understand the importance of the environment for our health, we need to know a little about the interdependence between environment and humankind. This unit will look at interactions between plants, animals and the physical and chemical environment, as well as considering ways in which humans have altered, and are altering this environment. These changes have health implications that are not always immediately obvious. Frequently, we initiate changes that are going to have their ef

7.5 Monitoring progress This stage of the framework is about keeping track of your progress. Are you using number effectively for your purposes? How do you know? Could you have done things differently: made use of different tools (such as software packages) or facilities, taken more advantage of tutorials, training sessions or local expertise, or recognised that such support would have helped you? Monitoring your own performance and progress needs practice; try to stand back and look at what you are doing as i
Lecture 5a: Functional Analysis - Nowhere dense sets
The fifth class in Dr Joel Feinstein's Functional Analysis module covers proofs that countably infinite complete metric spaces must have isolated points. Nowhere dense sets and nowhere dense closed sets.

Passover Matzo (3:15)
In this video watchers learn why the matzo is traditionally eaten during Passover. This explains how it is made.
Ask a Rabbi: What is Passover? (2:24)
In this video, viewers learn why Passover is the celebration of the liberation of the ancient Israelites from slavery in Egypt. They left Egypt, crossing the Red Sea into the Sinai desert to Mount Sinai to receive the Torah and founded Israel. Video is first one on the column at the left of the opening page. This is a 29 minute video that discusses what makes life worth living. The video tells that history of Aristotle and his interest in nature and why he was different than other philosophers of his time. This video stresses ethics and the problems of the character of life. It may be to complex for some students. A good video to use for teaching the Declaration of Independence, too.
Fire Safety for Your Home
This 2:25 minute video offers advice and information on improving fire safety in the home. It has good statistics and would be a good video to show students as it offers insights from the use of candles to checking fire and smoke detectors to checking water heaters.

All about Electrochemistry
Site contains introductory material in basic electrochemistry. Topics include galvanic cells, electrodes, cell potentials and thermodynamics, Nernst, batteries and fuel cells.
Electrochemical Detection of Phenol Utilizing a Synthesized Sonogel-carbon Zirconium Oxide
This experiment is designed for senior undergraduate students in an inorganic chemistry course. Students are asked to synthesize a sonogel-carbon electrode that is modified with a ZrO2 sol-gel and to compare the results to those of an unmodified electrode for the detection of phenol.
Analytical Electrochemistry: A Laboratory Manual
This labware module contains directions for seven experiments in analytical electrochemistry. The experiments are designed to illustrate fundamentals of electrode reactions as applied to readily accessible redox reactants. They provide insight to dynamic electrochemistry for scientists at all levels of training. Activation procedures to prepare glassy carbon electrodes are provided in a TechNote.
Synthesis of a Sonogel-Carbon Modified Sensor Electrode with Titanium Oxide (TiO2) to Detect Catecho
This experiment demonstrates cyclic voltammetry, surface modification, selectivity, and bioanalysis in assaying catechols in the presence of ascorbic acid. Pre- or post-lab questions are included, along with sample student data and instructor\'s notes.
