Sharks and Fishermen
The highly sophisticated sensory system of sharks allows them to locate their prey with remarkable accuracy. Their speed, agility and acute sensory ability leave few predators able or willing to compete with sharks for a potential meal. In this video segment from Nature, sharks sense and pursue a fisherman's catch. Run time 01:11.
Sharks and the Ocean Environment
This video tells how sharks survive in the ocean: how they travel, how they eat, and how they navigate the seas. For contrast, it also includes an amoeba-like animal that just drifts in the ocean currents versus a shark that swims powerfully through the ocean. Video has low resolution in the beginning. Students might benefit of having a drawing of the shark and other animals to be able to identify those parts of it they help with its survival.
