Whether we want to understand why people are starving in North Korea, why

The Warrior State: Pakistan in the contemporary world [Audio]
Speaker(s): Professor T.V. Paul | Editor's note: The question and answer session has been removed from this podcast. Seemingly from its birth, Pakistan has been struggling to build a proper democracy and a secure state. Today it ranks 133rd out of 148 countries in global competitiveness. Its economy is as dysfunctional as its political system is corrupt; both rely heavily on international aid for their existence. Taliban forces occupy many key areas of the country and engage in random violence.

Conclusion Polymers are long chain molecules with properties dominated by their chain behaviour and the nature of their chemical make-up or constitution. The distinction between thermoplastics and thermosets has become rather blurred with the development of new materials for more demanding environments than previously. They include high performance polymers which are more resistant to high temperatures, possess greater moduli or strengths, and can be combined with additives to enhance their intrinsic pr
Private Equity Heads Down a New Path The general approach towards private equity investments has shifted substantially, in part to conform with the tougher market conditions prevailing after the financial shocks of the last few years. Gone are the days of earning profits largely through financial engineering and rapid portfolio turnover. In their place — business transformation — where investors park their money for longer terms and generally rebuild under-performing companies. Wharton professor Stephen M. Sammut and Philip

TODAY (4:00PM US Central): Keck Seminar: Advancing Cancer Immunotherapy one Cell at a Time
Abstract:
Tumors are a complex mixture of tumor and host cells that have acquired the ability to proliferate and overcome programmed cell death, suppress the host immune response, and induce growth of blood vessels to sustain growth and promote metastasis. The significance of the immune system in eliminating/suppressing the malignant cells is well documented. Immunotherapy infusing antibodies, vaccines, and cells has emerged as a very effective approach for the treatment of human malignancies in

Why Central Bank Stimulus Cannot Bring Economic Recovery
Today every central bank on the planet is printing money by the bucket loads in an attempt to stimulate their economies to escape velocity and a
sustainable recovery. They are following Keynesian dogma that increasing aggregate demand will spur an increase in employment and production. So far all
