Earth Exploration Toolbook Chapter: Investigating Earthquakes: GIS Mapping and Analysis
This activity describes the technique of preparing latitude-longitude based data so it can be imported into a geographic information system (GIS). The chapter describes the steps to create a map to display data and guides users through some basic geographic analyses. The focus of the chapter's case study is earthquake prediction. Users download and format near real-time and historical earthquake data from the USGS. They import the data into ArcVoyager Special Edition GIS software, and analyze pa

Introduction to Economic Analysis
This book presents standard intermediate microeconomics material and some material that, in the authors' view, ought to be standard but is not. Introductory economics material is integrated. Standard mathematical tools, including calculus, are used throughout. The book easily serves as an intermediate microeconomics text, and can be used for a relatively sophisticated undergraduate who has not taken a basic university course in economics. Podcast also available

Data Analysis
The applet in this section allows for simple data analysis of univariate data. Users can either generate normal or uniform data for k samples or copy and paste data from another source to a text box. A univariate analysis is performed for all k samples.

Sixth-Grade Supplemental Activities --Analysis, Compare, and Contrast
Page at a Time's core materials are designed to be used with either fifth- or sixth-grade students. The sixth-grade activities in this section supplement the core activities. Their purpose is to challenge sixth graders to think in a critical and comparative manner that may be too difficult for fifth graders. Visit www.pageatatime.org to see more about this collection.

Data Analysis of Socio-Economic Status
The purpose of this assignment is to apply what you have learned in this course regarding the consequences of marginalization to an analysis of actual Census data for the United States in the year 2000. For this assignment, we will explore the impact of racial affiliation and sex on social class, as represented by socio-economic status (SES): level of education, occupation and income.

A First Course in Complex Analysis
These are the lecture notes of a one-semester undergraduate course which we taught at SUNY Binghamton. For many of our students, Complex Analysis is their first rigorous analysis (if not mathematics) class they take, and these notes reflect this very much. We tried to rely on as few concepts from real analysis as possible. In particular, series and sequences are treated "from scratch." This also has the (maybe disadvantageous) consequence that power series are introduced very late in the course.

The Story of Cap & Trade
The Story of Cap & Trade is a fast-paced, fact-filled look at the leading climate solution being discussed at Copenhagen and on Capitol Hill. Host Annie Leonard introduces the energy traders and Wall Street financiers at the heart of this scheme and reveals the "devils in the details" in current cap and trade proposals: free permits to big polluters, fake offsets and distraction from what’s really required to tackle the climate crisis. (This is a professional video that is strongly against
