I decided to make my own short video so I could say a few things that didn't get in to the documentary. I have to say, it was surpassingly cool to stand (well, squat) there and see the K-Pg boundary with my own eyes.
18.997 Topics in Combinatorial Optimization (MIT)
In this graduate-level course, we will be covering advanced topics in combinatorial optimization. We will start with non-bipartite matchings and cover many results extending the fundamental results of matchings, flows and matroids. The emphasis is on the derivation of purely combinatorial results, including min-max relations, and not so much on the corresponding algorithmic questions of how to find such objects. The intended audience consists of Ph.D. students interested in optimization, combina

4.4 Parabola (e = 1) A parabola is defined to be the set of points P in the plane whose distances from a fixed point F are equal to their distances from a fixed line d. We obtain a parabola in standard form if the focus F lies on the x-axis, and has coordinates (a, 0), where a > 0; the directrix d is the line with equation x = −a. Thus the origin lies on t
3.5 The screening current The London equations relate the magnetic field in a superconductor to the superconducting current density, and we derived the dependence of field on position by eliminating the current density. However, if we eliminate the magnetic field instead, we can derive the following equation for the current density: Microsoft Campus Tours - Building 20 Remodel | Microsoft Campus Tours Larry Larsen, Eric Havir and Jamey Tisdale take a tour of the newly renovated Building 20.
