Exploratory Pharmacokinetic Study
This dataset comes from a study of 7 healthy males given a topical medication. Blood samples were collected at specified time intervals, and data on isomer concentrations were collected. Questions from this study refer to the relationship between time and concentration of the isomer. A text file version of the data is found in the relation link.
Oral Toxicity Study in Dogs
This dataset comes from a study on dogs 4 doses of a drug. Data on the alkaline phosphatase levels in their blood was collected throughout the experiment. Questions from this study refer to the relationship between dosage of the drug and alkaline blood levels. A text file version of the data is found in the relation link.
Datasets from Drug Research
This collection of datasets comes from several phases of drug research. Each dataset comes with a full description and questions to answer from the data.
Bioequivalence Study
This dataset comes from a study on two treatment sequences (AB, BA) given to 14 healthy male volunteers randomly assigned to a two-period crossover design. Three pharmacokinetic variables were collected on the subjects at the end of each treatment period. Questions this study focused on refer to whether the treatments (A,B)are equivalent. A text file version of the data is found in the relation link.
Swim Maze Testing in Rat Pups
This dataset comes from a study on rats swimming in a T-shaped maze. Rats were given 4 doses of a drug, and their resulting pups swam the maze until they successfully escaped it 3 consecutive times. Questions from this study refer to the dosage of the drug, the number of swims until 3 consecutive successful escapes, and gender differences. A text file version of the data is found in the relation link.

Deposition of Gold Onto a Glass Substrate by Evaporation Through a Polycarbonate
Membrane(II)
The deposition of 10 micrometer gold islands on a glass surface by evaporation through a
polycarbonate membrane is described.
Simplified method for predicting residual solvent content in polymer coatings
Polymer coatings have a wide variety of uses in a number of industries. The polymeric films are coated on a substrate in a wet state and are dried to meet residual solvent content (RSC) specifications. Drying models predict the residual solvent content in the films. Previous models are elaborate and involve coupled mass and heat transfer equations. These equations are non-linear partial differential equations and are solved using numerical methods such as the finite element and finite difference
Studies in isothermal heat conduction calorimetry: I. The 2-Drop Calorimeter and educational applica
Heat conduction calorimetry is a well-developed technology that can be used on a variety of levels ranging from high school and undergraduate laboratories to diverse applications in industry and research. Both the educational and research aspects of heat conduction calorimetry are explored in this study. The 2-Drop Calorimeter was designed as an educational project in collaboration with researchers at Dow Chemical, Midland, MI and Lund University, Lund, Sweden. Calorimetry Sciences Corporation h
Effect of transverse load on fiber bragg grating measurements (The)
The field of communications has been revolutionized by the advent of optical fiber. Optical fiber now connects most of the world carrying a vast amount of information through a very limited physical medium. To the materials engineer, optical fiber technology has stimulated interest in a new type of micro-sensor application, where the size, weight, and the ability to integrate the sensor into a material structure play a major role. Areas of interest currently include materials characterization, c
Model testing of passive site stabilization
Passive site stabilization is a new technology proposed for use in mitigation of liquefaction risk at developed sites. Liquefaction is the rapid loss of strength caused by earthquakes, typically found in saturated sands or loose fills, which causes the formation to flow like later. Liquefaction has been known to be a very costly occurrence claiming many lives, damaging structures and businesses, and costing billions of dollars in repairs; however, sites can be remediated to prevent liquefaction.
Model-based generic approaches for automated fault detection, diagnosis, evaluation (FDDE) and for a
Performance monitoring of large engineering systems with the objective of optimal control and fault detection, diagnosis and evaluation (FDDE) has drawn the attention of several researchers of the last 3-4 decade. However, there are several fundamental and applied issues that need to be researched into, evaluated, developed and tested before it can be used with confidence by the professional HVAC&R community. This research will specifically address: (i) the issue of automated FDDE for large vapo
Implications of resource management in La Parguera, Puerto Rico (The)
A recent rezoning of La Parguera, southwest Puerto Rico, as a tourist zone has resulted in an imbalance between development and appropriate resource management. Development associated with tourism is destroying the sub-tropical dry forest and adding pressure on the marine resources through increased boat traffic and marine structures. Declining water quality and benthic community health are two of the impacts seen in La Parguera associated with these land use changes. This study is three-fold. F
Product Differentiation, Celebrity Endorsements and the Consumers Perception of Quality
In any market-driven Capitalistic economy it is the consumer that accounts for the vast majority of the output. Economists and Marketing scholars have long studied what motivates the consumer to demand, and eventually purchase, specific products.Depending on the type of product, the rational consumer will seek information about the quality and performance prior to purchase. Much of this information comes from advertising.Often times, seemingly similar products sell for different prices meaning t
Adolescents and Anger: An Investigation of Variables that Influence the Expression of Anger
This descriptive design study investigated anger demonstrated by
an adolescent population and added to the limited body of research that
investigates anger in adolescents. Specifically, the research explored
the effects of variables including sex, grade level, number of friends,
academic achievement, school behavior, friends’ behavior, and number of
household members on levels of Reactive Anger (RA), Instrumental Anger
(IA), Anger Control (AC), and Total Anger.

Mother and Teacher Interaction in Preschools during Parent-Teacher Conferences
The education of children has been a long-standing issue for stakeholders over numerous years. Various literatures recommend that formal learning should begin during the preschool years of a child’s life, and must include home-school partnerships. Empirical data has shown that parents and teachers who work together can positively impact a child’s success in school. This study sought to gain insight into the phenomenon of parent-teacher interactions in preschools, via the lens of symbolic int
