Postgraduate Courses

We welcome applications for study on any of the taught postgraduate courses we offer (listed on the left).

The School of Geography is a leading international centre of postgraduate teaching and research. The taught Masters programmes attract around seventy students a year, and numbers on its doctoral research programme have risen to forty-five. The School attracts postgraduates through a variety of studentships and bursaries, from research councils, the University and government agencies and companies. Postgraduate students are an integral part of the wider research and teaching community of the School, which presently has thirty-two academic staff.

Students enjoy high levels of support. The taught Masters programmes have small group teaching and tutorials. Masters students have full access to School facilities, including the new dedicated postgraduate computing laboratory, recently refurbished physical laboratories and a resource centre.

All taught postgraduate programmes in the School are available on a full-time or part-time basis. Information on sources of funding can be viewed here
