Dr (habil) Marion Potschin
Marion is Deputy Director for the Centre for Environmental Management and Senior Research Fellow in Sustainability Science and Landscape Development at the University of Nottingham. Since 2002 she focuses on Ecosystem Service research and application, which led her to serves as an as a reviewer for the European Commission’s FP7 programme and project evaluator for FP6 and FP7 on Environment. More recently she is on the advisory board for TEEB-Germany and the NEA-D, on national Governmental funding bodies for ecosystem service research. She currently co-edits the “Handbook of Ecosystem Services” to be published in 2015.
Originally trained as a natural scientist, for the last 20 years she is committed to inter- and transdisciplinary approaches to research and teaching in landscape issues. This experience turned into leading inter- and transdisciplinary project management modules. Before moving to the UK she worked for 13 years at the University of Basel/Switzerland and two in Ottawa/Canada.
