Case Studies

Effective practice with e-learning

Subtitled "A good practice guide in designing for learning" and published in 2004, this is a free JISC publication "built around a sequence of ten case studies illustrating practitioners’ solutions to day-to-day challenges", and is available online or if you ask Sarah Knight at JISC nicely she'll send you a shiny printed copy.

OTiS Case Study database

A database of 65 case studies in online learning, as submitted to the Online Tutoring Skills (OTiS) workshop in 2000. OTiS also publishes the immensely useful Online Tutoring e-Book, and case studies in e-learning.

Student Online Learning Experience (SOLE)

The SOLE project, funded by LTSN and JISC, carried out research between October 2002 and March 2004 and 10 UK universities and 2 FE Colleges on student's usage of Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs). The website has a number of case study reports covering a range of subjects, as well as a discourse analysis of the research.
