Join us to hear Nicki Deeson (International Finance Director at Amnesty International) who will be speaking about her career in the charity sector, the issues facing a global organisation and the challenges of being a woman in a traditionally male dominated area.
Nicki is a graduate of the University of Nottingham (Industrial Economics, 1988). She has enjoyed a hugely successful career in the charity sector spanning 25 years. Since 2013 Nicki has been International Finance Director at Amnesty International where she is responsible for delivering strategic growth through a robust monitoring, risk management and control framework, and building strong collaboration between finance, fundraising and country teams. She is currently Chair of Charity Finance Group, a national network inspiring finance professionals to drive increased public confidence in charities through financial excellence and transparency across the sector.
Nicki is also a Certified Professional Coach and passionate about helping people to achieve their personal and professional goals. She is particularly fervent about encouraging young accountants to hold on to their dreams and her mantra is: “Follow what you love, and you can change the world…one spreadsheet at a time.”
