CEAC Results Take Centre Stage

CEAC committee member to present data to World Congress on Lung Cancer

Internationally renown lung cancer specialist and CEAC Scientific Advisory Committee member James Jett M.D. will soon present data from the EarlyCDT-Lung test, which arose out of work instigated by the University of Nottingham. The results will be made available at the World Congress meeting in Amsterdam this July.

Dr Jett will report on the clinical outcomes of the first 1000 high risk individuals to take the test in North America.

Dr Jett, a Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic, will be the First Investigator on a CEAC-sponsored Screening Trial for Early Detection for Lung Cancer to start in the US in 2011. This trial aims to develop reliable biomarkers to allow the early detection  of lung cancer -- potentially before tumours develop. Early detection saves lives, the ultimate aim of all cancer research.
