Communications and Advocacy
Communications and Advocacy are ambassadors for, and guardians of, the University and its public profile.
We work across the institution to promote and enhance the University’s reputation, academic and student achievements in national and international media.
We engage our 9,000 staff and 45,000 students with campus life and developments at the University. And we build relationships with local, national and international businesses, politicians and policymakers to increase understanding of, and active support for, the aims and activities of the University.
From the News team
We work with the University community to highlight our research, innovations, and stories through press releases and news video.
Promoting our academics, staff and students to provide expert media comment on the news stories of the day, for which full training is provided.
We help academic staff highlight their research to key policymakers and influencers, ensures the University has a strong voice at the highest levels of government and generates visits to our campuses by national and international VIPs.
The team also champion our public engagement activities and initiatives.
The Internal Communications team delivers news, consultation on strategic priorities and engagement services for staff and current students.
We utilise digital and face-to-face channels including the:
- daily In the Loop bulletin
- fortnightly Campus Newsletter
- student social media channels
- campus screens
