Arriving by plane

East Midlands Airport

The closest airport to Nottingham is the East Midlands Airport, which mainly serves national or short international connections. From East Midlands Airport you can take the Skylink bus service from outside the Airport Arrivals hall.  The closest stop to conference centre is Paddling Pool UN02, although it does not go directly through the campus and the conference centre is approximately 15-20 minutes walk (see the available map). Alternatively, it is possible to take the bus to the city centre and take a taxi back to the university.

You can also walk to the taxi rank on the terminal forecourt and take a direct taxi to the University. The cost of a single/one way journey is approximately £25. Taxis are normally available 24 hours.

Birmingham and London airports

International guests may find Birmingham Airport or any of the London airports (Stansted, Heathrow, Gatwick or Luton) more suitable. One way to reach Nottingham from these cities is by train directly to Nottingham train station.

Regular rail services operate between Birmingham and Nottingham (1 hour 15 mins), as well as between London and Nottingham (from 1 hour 40 mins). At Birmingham Airport, you will first need to take the Air-Rail Link which is a free service from the terminal building to Birmingham International train station. For train information, tickets and timetables visit the National Rail Enquiries website.

Travelling by coach (to Nottingham Broadmarsh Bus Station) is another option, which may cost less. Coaches arrive directly outside the Airport terminal and all services use modern, air conditioned vehicles. Coach information, tickets and timetables can be found on the National Express website. Special budget coach trips are available on the London-Nottingham route.

By taxi

There are taxi ranks throughout the City Centre and immediately adjacent to the main railway and bus stations. The journey to the campus takes about 10 minutes and costs approximately £10.

By car

When driving to University Park Campus via satellite navigation, please use NG7 2QL as the postcode. Leave the M1 motorway at Junction 25 to join the A52 to Nottingham. Turn right at The Priory roundabout (about 4 miles from M1), then left at next roundabout to enter the University's West Entrance.

There is a large car park in front of the hotel conference centre which is available for use free of charge. There are also a number of car parks available for visitors, staff and students throughout the campus, although please be aware that there is a charge for using visitor car parks.
