Work on the Portland building continues as part of the Students’ Union’s refresh and there has been a significant addition since our last update.
The Welcome Zone
The Welcome Zone is now open. This is the new home for your Students’ Union Reception and is based on C Floor at the back of Portland, opposite Natwest and looking out onto Portland Hill. You might remember it as the former location of Blackwell’s Bookshop.
The space is open for anyone who wants to grab a comfy chair and get some work done or just take five minutes out of their day. Your SU Officers are now based just above the reception. If you need to meet with them, just check with the reception team to see if they’re available.
What’s coming next?
Work is still underway on the B Floor retail corridor leading to Portland Coffee Co. All units are expected to be open before the end of the semester.
Mystery shoppers
The SU is committed to providing you with the best student experience possible, which is why they’re looking for mystery shoppers to drop in from time-to-time and to provide feedback on SU services. Look out for more information on this coming soon.
