On Monday 8 May we will start the process of inviting you to make preliminary module choices for the 2017/18 academic year. This year we will be using a new online form which will open at 8am on Monday 8 May and close at 12 noon on Tuesday 16 May. Previous communications said that the online form would close on Friday 12 May but the period has been extended in response to feedback from students and staff.
What happens now?
On Friday 5 May, you will receive an email message with a link to the location of the online form and specific instructions about how to complete it. The online form will be pre-populated with your compulsory modules for the 2017/18 academic year. The message you receive will explain the requirements of your programme of study and the choices you need to make and enter onto the form.
The University’s Module Catalogue has now been updated for the 2017/18 academic year. The catalogue is a database containing details of all the modules taught at the University and is a useful resource to consult when making your module choices. The module catalogue is available at: http://modulecatalogue.nottingham.ac.uk/nottingham/
It is really important you keep an eye out for the message on Friday 5 May, so that you are ready to make your choices. In the meantime if you have any questions about your module choices please contact us using the online enquiry form at www.nottingham.ac.uk/studentservices/contact-us and choose ‘module choice’ from the list of things we can help you with.
Remember that the deadline for submitting your preliminary module choices will be noon on Tuesday 16 May 2017.
Please note:
- This information is for returning students i.e. those who expect to progress into the second or subsequent year of an undergraduate or postgraduate taught programme based in the UK and commencing in the autumn semester of the 2017/18 academic year.
- Not all programmes of study offer module choices but we will contact all students with specific instructions for your programme, even if it is just to confirm that you don’t need to do anything.
- Asking you to make your preliminary module choices in May helps to inform the timetables for the new academic year. However, submitting the form doesn't guarantee you a place as enrolment on any module is subject to timetabling and programme of study requirements.
- You will confirm your choices for the year at the start of the 2017/18 academic year. There will also be a process to allow you to request changes to your choices immediately at the start of each semester.
