During December 2018 the University of Nottingham will be celebrating Disability December with a range of events for staff and students including workshops, panel discussions, music performances and more. Our programme of events is below:

 

Inclusive climbing sessions

When? Sunday 2 and 9 December, 3-6pm

Where? David Ross Sports Village, University Park Campus

Hourly slots available. Free to members, £3 per session for non-members. Email hannah.webber@nottingham.ac.uk to book your place.

 

Minding the Mind: Supporting your mental health at work 

When? Monday 10 December 2018, 12:30-1.30pm

Where? Room B03, Teaching and Learning Building, University Park Campus

Attend this talk and panel discussion to learn about the types of mental health problems associated with the workplace and find out what the University of Nottingham is doing to support staff and students to manage and improve their mental wellbeing.

Disability and Music: An insight into the Able Orchestra experience

Where? Djanogly Recital Hall, Nottingham Lakeside Arts

 Join us to learn more about Able Orchestra and see how these amazing young people compose and perform wonderful music.

New Singing Group for People with Dementia and Carers 

When? 26 November and 10 December, 10:30am-12.00 noon

Where? Rehearsal Hall, Department of Music, Nottingham Lakeside Arts

Led by Angela Warren and Paul Quinn, this group is for people with dementia as well as their carers. £5 per couple. All welcome.

Vicky McClure’s Dementia Choir: A Christmas Concert

Donations will go to ‘Music and Memories’ and the continuation of the Dementia Choir in 2019.
