Cascade: up to £10,000 for student projects

Raining Money 714x249

The Cascade funding programme offers up to £10,000 in funding for projects that benefit the student experience.

The programme uses donations from alumni and friends of the University, and has gifted over £1 million to more than 120 projects since 2007. Previous funding has supported student-led initiatives such as Community First Responders, Liter of Light, Global Buddy Scheme and Foodprint (scroll down for more information).

Of special interest to the programme are projects that:

  • Connect campuses and communities
  • Encourage creativity and innovation
  • Enhance teaching and learning experiences
  • Promote environmental sustainability
  • Advocate for global citizenship
  • Promote healthy bodies and healthy minds

If you’re interested in applying for funding or would like more information, complete the Expression of Interest form or email cascade@nottingham.ac.uk.

The deadline for applications is Friday 15 November.

Below are some examples of previous projects that have successful secured Cascade grants.

Foodprint

This project set up Nottingham’s first social supermarket and a surplus food redistribution network, to reduce food waste and to redirect food that is fit for consumption, but would otherwise go to waste.

Community First Responders

Set up in 2014, Community First Responders are a group of trained student volunteers who act as an additional resource to the East Midlands Ambulance Service.
