This week the United Kingdom will participate in the European Parliament elections, with polling taking place on Thursday 23 May.
As a student, if you have registered to vote, you are entitled to cast your ballot at either your home or your term-time address.
This week’s election takes place against a background of lengthy and intense national debate on the future of the country and its relationship with the European Union.
We are therefore writing to encourage you to exercise your democratic right to vote this Thursday and contribute your voice to this debate. No matter how you vote or who you vote for, it is important that you have your say on your future.
Whatever the outcome of these elections, and however the country’s future relationship with the European Union is determined, the University of Nottingham will remain an institution that welcomes students and staff from every part of the globe.
