Description

The Symposium Gyro Technology has changed its name to Inertial Sensors and Systems because of the expanded focus and scientific topics covered at recent conferences. It will take place at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Karlsruhe, Germany on September 21 and 21, 2011. The conference will be held in English.

The technical event will cover the latest state of inertial sensors and navigation systems and gyro technology. Topics include applications, new systems, components and test procedures as well as investigations on cost and marketing aspects.
In modern navigation systems, localization and guidance increasingly use information provided by additional non-inertial sensors. Because of this, papers on hybrid systems that fuse data from inertial sensors and from GNSS, visual, infrared, radar or other sensors are especially welcome .

It is organized by the German Institute of Navigation (DGON) and the Institute of Systems Optimization (ITE). It is cosponsored by RIN, the Royal Institute of Navigation. Prof. Dr.-Ing Gert F. Trommer of ITE chairs the proceedings.
