Description

The third international colloquium on scientific and fundamental aspects of the Galileo program will take place at the Danish Design Center in Copenhagen, Denmark from August 31-September 2, 2011.

The deadline for receiving paper abstracts has been extended until April 15, 2011 and may be submitted online.

This colloquium is for scientists who use navigation systems and signals for their research. It will focus on scientific applications of Galileo (and other GNSS) and also with new scientific investigations which can benefit the development of Galileo, such as atomic clocks.

Attendees can expect a wide-ranging discussion on geodesy, geodynamics, ionospheric and tropospheric studies, atomic clocks, time scales, precise orbit and gravity field determination and more .

The colloquium will consist of plenary talks, two parallel half day sessions and a panel discussion.

The event is organized by the European Space Agency (ESA), DTU Space, Danish National Space Institute and the Technical University of Denmark.

Previous meetings were held in Toulouse, France in 2007 and Padua, Italy in 2009.
