The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council has announced its allocation of this year’s Career Acceleration and Leadership fellowships.
This year the council will give out 30 Career Acceleration fellowships and 16 Leadership awards, one more overall than the average allocation, investing a total of £38 million. This is the third year of the awards.
Each provides funding for up to five years. Career Acceleration Fellowships are intended for researchers in the early stage of their career while the Leadership Fellowships are for researchers with the potential to become “international research leaders”.
The EPSRC has highlighted that the research areas of the fellows represent “many promising developments in technologies for industry and business development” in areas such as physics, chemistry, computer science and bioengineering.
