Technology Strategy Board (TSB) launch £10m Competition for Funding in Informed Logistics

UK based businesses are invited to lead project applications into the informed logistics call from the Technology Strategy Board which formally opened on the 2nd of November.

Applications are welcomed for project submissions ranging between an indicated total cost of £200k and £4m. Projects should aim to develop innovative systems and services to enable goods to be moved around the country more effectively leading to a reduction in congestion across the UK fright transport network. Up to 50% of the total project costs can be covered through the funding allocated by the TSB. The Technology Strategy Board are running a free Informed Logistics applicants briefing day in London on the 10th November 2009. It is strongly advised that you attend this event if you are thinking of submitting a project. The day will explain in detail the application process. The location of, and how to fill in the application forms, pitfalls, financial and general guidance to the process. The opportunity for consortia building and project guidance will be given in the afternoon by the ITS KTN.

GRACE is seeking business partners who can lead a consortia project that will incorporate research and development activities, simulation, testing and demonstration of GNSS based or multi-sensor location based and/or geospatial technologies. Update on GRACE

The University of Nottingham has joined forces with the east midlands development agency (emda) to create a new world-class centre of excellence in Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) with a total investment of £9.2m. The Nottingham Geospatial Building (NGB), the home of GRACE officially opened its doors on the 21st of October 2009.
