Using stories to develop skills
Even as adults we love to hear a story and this starts very early in childhood, so the child learns to develop their vocabulary and grammar through telling both factual and fictional stories. The understanding of how to develop grammatically correct sentences develops gradually. Children also start to use longer sentences expanding sentences from around 7 words to 12 or more. This often means the child becomes more descriptive in what they say.
