When misunderstanding arises acknowledge the problem and take responsibility for your own error. Eunice needs to understand that words have different meanings in other countries. Eunice needs to take the time and patience to communicate in a manner that the person understands. In this instance she could say. "Oh sorry, Mary you may not have understood me what I wanted to know was did any activity you were doing bring on this pain?"
