Last chance for student deals on bus passes 

If you buy a Nottingham City Transport bus pass by Saturday 13 October, you can do so for a special academic rate of £199. This allows you to catch any NCT bus at any time until the end of the academic year.

You can also register for Trent Barton’s student MANGO card. If you top up with a minimum of £175, you’ll get another £50 for free. This offer is available until Friday 12 October. With a student MANGO, you also get £1 fares within Nottingham and 35% off single fares on journeys beyond Nottingham.

Exhibit at the Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition 

The Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition is one of the UK’s most prestigious science exhibitions. If you would like to showcase your research there in July 2013, then apply by 6pm on Monday 15 October.

Cascade: funding round now open 

URNcascadeStaff and students with ideas for transformative projects can apply now for up to £10,000 from Cascade, the University’s fund to help enable projects making a significant impact on the student experience.

For more information visit the Cascade web pages and for an application form please contact cascade@nottingham.ac.uk. The deadline for applications will be midnight on Monday 5 November.

Recently Cascade awarded £10,000 towards the cost of University Radio Nottingham’s studio upgrade.

 

Student volunteering opportunity 

The University is working in partnership with national charity IntoUniversity to deliver the IntoUniversity Volunteering Scheme.

Volunteers either provide academic support helping children with homework or educational activities or mentoring to develop children’s attainment, social skills and raise awareness of their future options.
