ISAC and NiCE-MSI victorious in Baltimore

The 61st International Symposium and Exhibition of the AVS (American Vacuum Society) took place from the 9th-14th November at the Baltimore Convention Center, Baltimore, Maryland. In addition to eminent presentations and guest speeches by ISAC (School of Pharmacy, University of Nottingham) and NiCE-MSI (National Physical Laboratory) personnel, the undoubted highlight of the week was victory for a team of runners from both groups in the oldest institutional 5k run in existence. This achievement, in only their first year of entry, broke a cycle of 15 straight years victory by the formidable PNNL (Pacific Northwest National Laboratory) team. Success has already sparked fervorous talk of a title defence at the 62nd AVS symposium. Congratulations to all the team members that took part (pictured below).
