ISAC Competition

Liquid contact angle measurements on a variety of surfaces

Water contact angle droplets. Science with style.

ISAC has launched a competition to compile some special examples of surface analytical data. We want to showcase the work that goes on in the LBSA and across the University surface analysis facilities at large. This data will be used within ISAC’s marketing portfolio to highlight the quality surface science at Nottingham and what our students and staff are capable of.

Therefore if you have any exciting visual and / or technically challenging results that you are allowed to (please check with your supervisors) and willing to share, please email them with a brief description of what they are and what they show to  isac@nottingham.ac.uk. or M.Piggott@nottingham.ac.uk

All submissions will be automatically entered into a competition to win a stash of exciting ISAC goodies. Furthermore, winner or not, should your work be used by ISAC in any capacity, not only will it end up being prominently credited and displayed to all the commercial and industrial companies ISAC interacts with, but you will be guaranteed a small prize as thanks.

The overall prize draw will be made on the 11th or March and the winner announced at that day's LBSA meeting. We are particularly interested in (but by no means limited to): AFM images, Raman maps, ToF-SIMS maps, XPS data, SEM images and TEM images etc.

Any entries and suggestions are warmly welcomed from both students and staff.
